From salary to portfolio

The kids are gone, the mortgage is paid - time to do what I want to do for a change...

I left full-time employment with Plymouth University in July 2009, but am still professionally active albeit with a modified portfolio of activity.  You will find more details by clicking on the page links above: a full CV can be downloaded below.

Things I enjoy and am good at:
  • Music - choral, folk, blues, pop - click here.
  • Researching, writing and teaching about rural issues, with particular reference to ICT, farm and business management, social and economic development;
  • Running training activities, purpose-designed; participative, imaginative;
  • Designing and implementing programmes of learning at higher education level;
  • Designing and implementing research projects in business and social science;
  • Exploring ways of crossing discipline boundaries - for instance between the arts and the sciences;
  • Organising events - conferences, lectures, concerts...
